1st XI GRAND FINAL RESULT

In a disappointing end to what was the most bizarre season of cricket in recent memory, the VTCA Appeals Board have awarded St. Albans the Senior Division Premiership for season 2019/20.
Firstly, as a club we would like to congratulate St. Albans CC on a fantastic year, a mighty effort after only two seasons in the top flight division. We look forward to the challenge of taking you on again next season.
While disappointed in the outcome, we respect and accept the VTCA’s decision, and look forward to next season. It should be said that the club representatives that attended the hearing were outstanding. Well done to Gill Powell and Andrew Cullen.

To our players, a massive congratulations on a great season, albeit interrupted. We have made great headway in developing our up and coming players, and the addition of Trent, Ash and Connor hold us in good stead for years to come.
Add to that the recent appointment of Mitch Johnstone as Captain/Coach and we have the potential to dominate this competition once more.

They say that all good things must come to an end, and unfortunately for the club, that is the case for three of its most loyal servants.
Emmett Bronca, Andrew Cullen and Adam Contessa have all decided to hang up the boots to spend more time with their young families. There will be much more to come on these guys in the coming days, but the club can not thank you enough for the blood, sweat and tears you guys have given over the years.

With all that said, we now look forward to season 2020/21 and are focused on continuing the three retiring players legacies, and unearthing the next crop of YCCC legends.

We will be providing an update on things like pre-season, presentation, our 50th anniversary event etc in the coming weeks, so please stay tuned to our socials.
Stay safe, keep in touch with mates and you’ll be hearing from us soon.
